Endodontics (which is commonly referred to as Root Canal Therapy) deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders of the dental pulp (nerve). It is designed to save injured or diseased teeth. Signs that you may need endodontic treatment include, but are not limited to tenderness when eating or touching your teeth, prolonged heat and cold sensitivity, or swelling of your mouth or face. A root canal becomes necessary when the pulp is diseased or has an infection. By the time a root canal is performed, most people are already under extreme and intense pain that is caused by the growing bacteria in the tooth. Although root canals are notoriously not fun, avoiding one when you need it can result in the infection spreading or you losing your tooth. In order to figure out whether you do or do not need a root canal, we will need to conduct a series of oral x-rays. If it is determined that you are in need of root canal treatment, we will make sure to do everything we can to keep you relaxed and feeling safe during the process. Our friendly and caring staff is here for you every step of the way and has seen many patients through their root canals before. Above all, we are here to help you.
